FEEDING THERAPY

Our physical therapists are dedicated to providing customized one-on-one care that helps children with developmental, orthopedic, neuromuscular, congenital or acquired conditions to achieve or restore gross motor skills. Gross motor skills are those that require whole body movement from the early skills of rolling and sitting to walking, jumping, running, climbing, and ball skills. The goal of pediatric physical therapy is to assist each child in reaching their maximum potential to function independently and to promote active participation in home, school, and community environments.

Our Speech-Language Pathologists provide comprehensive, individualized speech-language evaluations and treatment for children with a variety of impairments including but not limited to delayed articulation, motor speech disorders, apraxia, auditory processing disorder, autism, cognitive delays, phonemic and phonological awareness, and developmental language delays.

Testimonials

Mrs. Juileanne was absolutely AMAZING with my son. When she first came, he only could say a few words. With a few months of working with him, he had tremendous improvement. If it had not been for her, he would not be were he is at today with his speech. He recently graduated from speech because he had such great progress. I definitely would recommend SCSS to parents whose children need speech.

Our Speech-Language Pathologists have completed specialized training in pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders. Our therapists have experience with infants, toddlers, and children with a variety of feeding difficulties and medical complexities from tracheostomy and G-tubes to orofacial and sensory feeding disorders.

SCSS is seriously THE BEST place my kids have been to for speech, feeding, and OT. The front office staff is wonderful, Tammy is amazing, all of the therapists collaborate with each other and all three of my kids have seen practically every one of them at one point or another. The therapists really love their jobs, and they have practically become family over the last couple of years. Leah and Julieanne work really diligently to make sure families are getting the education and resources they need to effectively work with their child at home as well. It is sometimes difficult to find a speech therapist who can treat kids who are medically complicated, and at no point have I ever felt my kids have not been properly cared for. They have improved by leaps and bounds and I cannot say enough about them! I HIGHLY recommend them!

"Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. but for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood"

PEDIATRIC THERAPY SERVICES

We've been through a few feeding therapists and they are the best! Leah is amazing and immediately embraced my son as if he were her own. She is open to discussion and focused on current research. My son is almost 100% dependent on a g-tube for feedings, but for the first time, it feels like we could make significant progress toward oral feeding.
