PEDIATRIC THERAPY SERVICES

BECOME A PATIENT

Here at SCSS we believe in a collaborative approach meaning your child will have their main treating therapist but may be seen by other therapists if they are receiving more than one service and or receiving treatment more than once a week. This allows for increased collaboration to determine the best possible treatment plan and approaches for treating your child. This also allows for increased opportunities for makeup sessions when needed. Here at SCSS we are a team and we believe that by working together we can provided unparalleled services to you and your child.

Thank your for your interest in becoming a patient at SCSS. To begin the referral process, please call the office and a member of our staff would be happy to answer any questions you might have and get the process started. Please see below for commonly asked questions and specific information required prior to beginning services.

ALL ASSESSMENTS: Detailed medical history/documentation and any previous testing/treatment documentation including speech-language, PT, OT assessments, progress reports, developmental testing, psychological testing, IEP, IFSP, etc.

FEEDING/SWALLOWING: Detailed medical history/documentation, any previous testing/treatment documentation including MBS/FEES results, and accepted and unaccepted foods to trial during the assessment.

If your child has received a speech-language evaluation within the last 5 months, a reassessment is not necessary if you are able to provide a complete copy of the assessment and any progress summaries completed since the initial evaluation. If it has been greater than 6 months or your child has never had an assessment completed, a comprehensive evaluation is required before services can begin.

If you are concerned about your child's feeding/swallowing and they are under a year old, a reassessment may be necessary sooner than 6 months to determine an appropriate plan of treatment. Please provide your most recent assessment and a clinician will review the document along with your current concerns regarding your child's feeling to determine if an updated assessment is required.
